Oregon Coast Bike Hike Paddle and Play

The cost covers 7 nights of lodging in inns and motels at Otter Crest, on the Siuslaw River in Old Town Florence, and in Old Town Bandon on the Bay. Meals included are the 5 motel provided cold continental breakfasts, 3 sack lunches, breakfast out one morning, fancy dinner at Bandon at Lord Bennett's, two picnic dinners in yurt meeting halls at Beverly Beach State Park and Woahink Lake Group site at Honeyman State Park. Happy hour food and non-alcoholic drinks are provided for five Happy Hours. There will also be a pretrip dinner at the leader's home. The first stop is for two nights at the Inn at Otter Crest. We will have the Beverly Beach yurt meeting and dining hall the first day so you can hike to Beverly Beach along the breach trail from the Inn at Otter Crest or head to the Whale Center at Depoe Bay. We will bike along the Yaquina Bay Road from the lighthouse to Toledo or Siletz or Halfmoon Campground on the Siletz River. There are also great places to stop and hike to the ocean. Kayakers can do their thing at Ona Creek and a guided tour with rentals may also be available. We encourage you to make a trip to the Aquarium also. The second two night stop is Florence and we're staying at the Riverhouse Inn and the Old Town Inn on the Siuslaw River. We have four special river view rooms for a drawing. We intend to bike from Mapleton to Sweet Creek, kayak from Mapleton up the Siuslaw and hike Sweet Creek Falls which is a real treat. There are great trails at Cape Perpetua and a ranger stop at Strawberry Hill for innertidal life. This area has lots of sea life and many view stops to walk to and from Hwy 101. The third stop is for three nights in Bandon and we are all staying in Old Town. From here, you can kayak on the Coquille River, bike the road along the Bandon Coast or through the Bandon Dunes Golf Courses, you can spend time in the wildlife preserve, walk out on the Bandon jetty, drive to the Simpson Reef near Cape Arago, kayak on the South Slough Estuarine Reserve, play in the sand and waves at Sunset Bay, and take a long walk through Shore Acres State Park which is all gardens. One of my favorite places to walk is from the Sough Slough Estuarine Reserve Visitor Center down to the bay.  Deposit due with signup $325.00   Remainder due by May 23 $206.00
