NORTH CASCADES July 17 to July 21, 2022

This is the 2nd half of the Combined Port Townsend and North Cascades ONLY.

We will be staying in 6 vacation rental homes and 4 studio units near Mazama, Washington.   We will be preparing  many meals  in our 10 kitchens.  We arrive the last day of WinthropRhythm &Blues Festival.

On  July 17, most  will drive the scenic North Cascades highway 20 from  Whidbey Island crossing North Cascades National Park to Mazama in Methow Valley.    There are a half dozen gorgeous scenic stops along our route.    Since there are hikers of all skill levels amongst us, there will be a wide selection of trails from wheelchair accessible to suitable for a mountain goat.   The Methow Valley summer  trail map has 3 trail systems  for fat tire biking, horseback riding and foot travel.  There are also hiking trails for everyone in the North Cascades National Park.  Pearrygin Lake near Winthrop, an Old West town very worth visiting,  is a great place to kayak or go swimming.  There will be at least one option for a rafting trip and an inflatable kayak trip.  Tubing is popular in this area also.
